Duty of Care

We take the utmost care with researching and presenting information. All content on toxno and it’s associated web entities are for inspirational and educational purposes only. We never diagnose or even imply that you may have any medical conditions. Every person that writes for or interacts with toxno via commenting or posting on a forum does so in good faith with no intention to diagnose, treat or cure anyone.

Every person that writes for or interacts with toxno via commenting or writing an article or any other way like consultancy or expert opinion or advice is in no way liable for what an individual does with the information presented.

We say this so as to encourage everyone to contribute without any fear of legal action.

What we don’t do.

We don’t diagnose you for any medical conditions or imply in any way that your exposures to any toxic chemicals are causing or have caused any medical or health conditions. There is plenty of work and research out there that is doing just that.

We don’t take responsibility for what you do with the information we provide. Nor do the good folks who have spent thousands of man-hours researching and collating data that we use in toxno. We do however make every effort to ensure data accuracy and provide references to all data sources we use.

We do hope to influence you by encouraging reflection and thinking by providing educational information.

Considerations of this work

Do we present all potential daily exposure routes of toxins and chemicals? NO, not yet. At Toxno we are always prioritising as the field is so large. Focus is on common exposure pathways based on where we spend the most time, what we do the most, what we consume and what we eat. Comes down to our Home, our Workplace, kids School and where and how we Play.

Are all chemicals or substances shown within a particular exposure route? NO, not yet, but we are working very hard to expand this as much as possible based on currently available data and research and industry declaration. However, all chemicals within a product are not required to be declared by manufacturing companies. Some added chemicals are trade secrets.

Does a HIGH level of exposure to a potentially harmful toxin or substance automatically indicate that you will experience an adverse health effect like a disease, cancer or reproduction issues? NO There are other factors involved like genetics, your current and past detoxification capabilities, your gut health, your immune system, nutrient sufficiency, diet, exercise, sauna, sweating and others.

Does a LOW level of exposure to a potentially harmful toxin or substance automatically indicate that you will NOT have an adverse health effect like a disease, cancer or reproduction issues? NO. There are other factors involved like genetics, your current and past detoxification capabilities, your gut health, your immune system, nutrient sufficiency, diet, exercise, sauna, sweating and others.

However, it is important to realise that a low dose of a chemical, when combined with small doses of other chemicals, will create a combined or synergistic effect that can be more harmful than the effect from one of the low dose substances on its own. Additionally, some chemicals accumulate or are stored in the body over time.

Could we overestimate your exposure to a nasty substance?

Yes. We can interact with and buy many products within an exposure route. All products don’t contain the same chemicals, but we do know that within a particular category of exposure there are known chemicals and toxins. We don’t focus on any one product, as there are many websites and organisations out there that do this. One of the primary objectives of toxno is that we help you know that nasty’s potentially exist within a typical daily exposure route.

Rather than avoiding the whole category of products within this exposure route (although sometimes it may be best to do just that) you can then investigate deeper into the ingredients within those products you want to use.

Could we underestimate your exposure to a nasty substance?

Yes. But this is what is already happening. Toxno primarily exists for this very reason. So we don’t underestimate our daily exposure to potentially nasty compounds. We want to raise awareness of these potential exposures – focusing on the ones we can modify.

Does anyone on this earth, currently know everything we are exposed to? Does anyone know the consequences of all these accumulating substances in our bodies and our environment? No, but here at toxno we are very clear that the individual has to be able start somewhere. Hence toxno. Know your potential exposures and begin to say NO.
